BERT GRASSO
 Match Rifle Rear Sight

The Bert Grasso Sight has a feature that operates like the "Ladder" front sights. Notice the  6  vertical holes,  (3 in front of the knob and 3 behind the knob)   in the base of the sight mount. These  holes represent "Pre-Determined" amounts of changes needed to make the 'major' sight changes from 2-300 yards to 600 yards to 1000 yards. The shooter simply loosens the Knob, pull the upper part of the assembly to the right and re-install the locator pins in the desired holes for that particular yard line. To determine the location of the holes, Bert used 168 gr. .308 @ 2600 fps for all the holes, except for the 1000 yard holes. For those, he used 190 gr. .......load, which he says is a 'Secret'! The "Windage" mechanism is designed to 'Float' to the right and left as the knob is turned to make a windage change.
The 'Windage Screw' is threaded into the left side of the sight mount and the 'Guide Pins' slide back and forth through this block, as the screw is turned for windage changes. This means that when you change your windage, the 'Width' of the Grasso Sight also changes. The 'Guide Pins' and screw also come through the left side of the block, but there is no interference noticed from this.

This view is to show the differences between the  3  sights when the windage is fully extended to the left. The Grasso is the widest because of the  120  minutes of windage capability and as noted before; the windage block moves on the pins through the left mount. Rest assured that the Targets would be put away long before the shooter needs  60  minutes of windage. This feature is so that after you mount your Grasso Sight, the thickness of the sight base on the rifle, will not create a shortage of windage movement.   The sight on the left is a # 2 and the sight on the right is a
PNW Mk I Proto-type. There will be up-dates on availability and price of the Grasso Rear Sight. In the near future, I plan to have a few tollerance test results posted between these  3  rear sights.  However, I do intend to wait for a 'Production PNW'.  ...BOB JONES...
